Starvation In Gaza: Roots of The Genocide And Pathway To Stopping It
Israel’s forced starvation of the innocent Palestinian people of Gaza is nothing but pure Genocidal treachery, entirely U.S. enabled, U.S. weaponized, and U.S. insulated. Also complicit in weaponizing and insulating Israel’s inhuman War Crimes, are the U.K., going along with anything the U.S. does… and Germany, bowing to anything Israel does, in forever apology for it’s WWII Holocaust upon the Jews; as Israel now committing it’s own genocidal atrocities some few short generations later; in sickening irony.
For over 2 months Israel has blocked all food, fuel, and medicine to Gaza, a deliberate policy of starvation, which Israeli officials outwardly and publically state, yet don’t hesitate to turn around and selectively gaslight this when needed, as a matter of “Hamas stealing the aid”, with their cynical PR propaganda they know has zero credibility and only works on their Zionist extremist base.
Turn on the news any day, and you will hear the screaming cries and see the anguishing faces of starving Palestinian children. You willl see the trembling of destroyed human bodies, unoffending victims of Israel’s daily genocidal terrorism.
Israel is not trying to “get the captives back”, or “eliminate Hamas”, they never were — they’ve deliberately fallen short of those goals, in order to continue to fulfill they’re actual goal, cleansing Gaza and West Bank of Palestinian’s, to steal the region's territory and reclaim the “holy land” for the Jews, as biblically prophecied.
Religion, the Corruption of Media, and the Financial Capture of Global Superpowers (Capitalism)—are at the roots of all this... along with the tribalistic rise of Nationalism in the 1900's, and transference of sociological trauma from one group to another, as victims become the victimizers.
Religion—by its detachment from reality in the form of prophetic fantasy, giving people nonsensical and harmful priorities they deem superior to the law and human rights. Religion claims an authority on Truth, it trains people to learn from authority, training people (not) to think.
Some would argue religion provides needed moral fabric. But where is the morality of Israeli Zionism? Morality, altruism, these are fundamental human qualities; nothing unique to religion. No, history and present events show religion only fuels the neurosis for tribal conflict, and is always used to justify atrocities.
The Corruption of Media—as media is bought and sold by right wing billionaires, who seek to preserve and reinforce Capitalism in their interest… continue tax cuts for the 1%… continue to deregulate societal regulations for human & environmental concern that interfere with their profit and power, continue to offload any responsibility for their oppression and destruction to blame immigrants, minority demographics, and political opposers… continue to foment cult loyalty to their extremist policies through media they’ve bought, who agree to push their relentless propaganda and narratives.
Social Media too is owned by right wing billionaires. There’s not a single mainstream social media platform without a radicalizing algorithm pushing right-wing media in people’s faces, as sane, rational ideas are algorithmically silenced.
People today get a completely different set of facts depending on the media they consume. Human consciousness exists on completely separate planes of reality. We live in a "post-truth" age, where any claim can be put out as equal to fact, allowing the powerful to literally manufacture reality itself. Look at the Israeli public and their mindless support of their own governments vicious genocidal actions; support otherwise impossible without the manipulation of media, control of information, narratives, etc.
The Financial Capture of Superpowers—through the avenues of legalized corruption and bribery in the form of lobbying and campaign donations to politicians; the blatant buying of policy, ie: military defense contractors with their massive campaign donations to politicians in exchange for pro-war policy, or foreign lobbyists donating massively in exchange for unconditional U.S. backing and arms sales to their military campaigns; hence our politicians unwavering support of Israel in the face of countless ongoing war crimes. It’s a reinforcing system of corruption, a corruption loop.
Everything sells out in this Capitalist system, where labor is tied to our very survival, where the structural evils of extreme hierarchy are ever present and provoking of our primal monkey selves. As social creatures who define themselves by our sense of relationship and inclusion with one another, perceiving the world in terms of “socialization” first, and evidence and reason second, if at all… allows for the tribal emotional appeals to win out over logic and the collective interest. The powerful exploit these social, biological, and environmental vulnerabilities, to justify or mask their corruption, and to amass power itself.
The Rise of Nationalism—in the 1900's where peoples sought to establish sovereign statehoods in the world, in the interest of self-determination, independence, and binding national identities. This emboldened the Zionist Movement, and its vision for an ethnonationalist, theocratic State for Israel.
Transference of Trauma—Sociologically it's notable to see the dehumanizing, genocidal trauma and persecution suffered by the Jews resurface as dehumanization and genocide against another group of people, as with Israel's long history of atrocity and massacres in the middle East since its beginnings, to ethnically drive out Palestinians from the region, and illegally seize territory against international/U.N. law. Damaged humans create damaged humans, and that's what society is doing right now, in an unbroken chain of trauma.
The failure of Systems (Capitalism), the failure of human thinking (Religion), along with the (tribalism) of Nation/Statehood, and (primal) response to are to blame for the extreme level of self-destruction and betrayal happening to human society.
The world is run by Superpowers with the strongest militaries — monkeys with the “most fists”. They ruthlessly ignore law without consequence. They own the media, they fabricate reality in their favor.
The U.N. has gone as far as it can for now, passing a resolution in March 2024 demanding immediate Ceasefire, that Israel halt all military offenses, that hostages be returned by Hamas, and that humanitarian aid be allowed in. Israel completely ignored it and continued with its daily war crimes. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the judicial body of the U.N., issued arrest warrants for top Israeli officials based on overwhelming evidence for war crimes. Israel and dismisses it all as illegitimate. And there is no real way to “enforce” these rulings for ceasefire and arresting military officials, when Israel and its superpower allies have the strongest militaries.
It is now up to World’s Nations to stand up to these Superpowers enabling these atrocities. The people of those nations around the world must pressure their governing powers, with organized, targeted, strategic mass protest; to pressure and boycott any institutions financially tied to Israel.
Protests have been working… they’ve won over public opinion, won the argument against the false narratives of Palestinians being the aggressors and Israel the victim, and bad faith accusations of protests being anti-Semitic, or “pro Hamas”. They’ve helped bring these war crimes to the center of media attention, where media has gone on to cover this genocide with greater clarity and honesty…. Protests have had policy wins, with major universities making deals to take a position of “ceasefire” in Gaza, to begin negotiations for divesting from Israel and any companies related to supplying it’s military, and making deals to protect student’s free speech rights.
Protests have awakened a backbone in our institutions to stand up on this issue… they’ve inspired courage in everyday citizens to speak out… this movement to Free Palestine and stop the genocide has real, popular, and political weight on its side now, where previously it was entirely one-sided in favor of Israel.
Protests, with strategic, organized, and clear demands, can lead to policy shifts; like imposing sanctions on Israel, with restrictions on trade, placing bans on all imports/exports, freezing and blocking any further financial transactions with Israel… like arms embargo that cut off the sales of arms to Israel, as France and Italy have done… like diplomatic sanctions which dissolve all diplomatic ties and communication… like cultural sanctions which ban Israel’s participation in sports. Nations must be moved to cut all cultural, technological, financial, and diplomatic ties with Israel, and with the countries enabling its Genocide of Palestinians and illegal stealing of their land. Any and all measures must be exhausted to isolate and disempower Israel and its enableist superpowers, to force their hand into Ceasefire.
Protest must target strategic locations to directly pressure politicians still voting to fund and weaponize Israel; targeted protest where these politicians live, where they work, where they eat, to make their lives unlivable until they change position on this glaring human rights global cause.
We must continue to use civil disobedience, and general strikes, to disrupt the functioning of society, to bring this dire crisis to the forefront of public conscience. Some student activists are holding Hunger Strikes, in solidarity with Gaza who starves… to bring these issues to conscience.
We need to pressure existing politicians, and incoming political candidates, for anti-war/anti-interventionist policy positions; to form political coalitions and obtain majorities in congress that are against these ideas, in order to shift policy on these endless, interventionalist wars.
Hearts break for the people of Palestine.
